Saronim sat and looked at Teroco. In all honesty, he really did hate humans deep down. Reslin; the Third of the Four Holy Maidens, had given the humans the gift, all humans could use it, even from infancy, in fact, if any couldnt, he or she was exiled; it was magic. By concentrating their hearts own natural energy humans were able to harness unimaginable power, though only ones with pure hearts could use it to its full extent. Some humans, seeing their gift as a way to further their own kinds supremacy; then proceeded to massacre other races in an all out war against the world; and none of the other races stood a chance. Nas; the Second Holy Warrior of Two, was horrified by the death cries of the race he favored the most; the Shagona Mai, so he stole the power of light and shadow from the Four Holy Maidens and gave it to the Shagona Mais best warriors, only to be caught and killed later on by the Holy Four.
The war that followed this event was so long and so bloody that after fifteen years of constant battles, the gods themselves got involved, in an attempt to quell the doom of the world. It was only after the gods descended upon the world that they realized what the Holy Maidens and Warriors had done. The beings upon the Earth had grown as powerful as the gods, and as such, were able to kill them.
As the gods blood spilled, the Shagona Mai and humans that didnt want to fight anymore stood by their sides trying desperately to save them, however, this was all in vein. The last god to die was named Justeth, and in his dying breath he made a curse that was powerful enough to end the wars completely.
In this curse Justeth told the races that killed the gods that their souls would be forgotten, and that in death they would wander the Earth in search of rest in vein, never to be pardoned of what theyd done to the gods, never to know the grace of the heavens, and to be hunted down by the demons that wandered the gods nightmares.
The races that were cursed were the Shagona Mai, because they were the first to shed the blood of the gods, and the humans that started the war, because they abused their gift.
Saronim shook his head free of these thoughts; after all, it wasnt all humans that started the war, just the ones that had tainted hearts. Saronim directed his gaze upwards, through the open ceiling.
Teroco cleared her throat and sat erect, So, how do we get out of here?
Saronim looked down at her without moving his head and looked back up, Well
One, what do you mean by we? And Two, I can easily climb over these walls and be out of here just like that. Youre going to have to figure a way for you to get out of here yourself.
Teroco furrowed her brow, Well excuse me! I was just trying to be nice!
Saronim rolled his eyes, Yeah, really nice of you to try and kill me! Speaking of which, you still havent told me why.
The guard captain was offering a reward of fifty thousand copper; I couldnt get that kind of money anywhere else!
Saronim stared hard at her, Only fifty thousand copper? Are you kidding me!? Thats got to be the lowest bounty Ive ever had! Saronims couldnt finish his remark before he started laughing.
Teroco ignored his laughter, Well a big bounty to you or not; fifty thousand copper is a lot to me.
Saronim wiped the tears from his eyes, But thats only worth fifty quarts! Trust me; you couldnt get out of a large city with that little dab!
Teroco clenched her fists, Alright, alright already! Ill rephrase my question! How do I get out of here!?
Saronim got up, put his satchel over his shoulder, and smiled, Oh, I can help with that.
Terocos eye twitched, Then what the hell was all that for!?
Just proving a point.
Saronim led Teroco to a part of the room where the wall was notably deteriorated. He was able to scale it fairly easily, jumping from one ledge to another of the ruins. Teroco watched him scale a nearly twenty-five foot wall in less then seven seconds. Saronim looked down to the floor and gave a sly smile.
Alright, when ever youre done sitting down there you can come on up!
Terocos eyes widened, Y-you mean you arent going to help me?
Saronim lowered his eyes, Oh, and I suppose youd want me to hold your hand on the way up? No! of course not!
B-but I cant climb this like you can! I need help!
Saronim turned and began to walk away, Just call us even
Teroco cursed Saronim at the top of her lungs as he continued to walk away.

Devious Comments
Also, I still think Tereco is a sook. I mean, if she works for your story, that's okay, but I'd like to know a bit about her background and why she's such a wuss when it comes to engaging in conversation, etc.
If you know what I mean. If not, feel free to ignore.

I was planning on having Teroco be a bigger part of the story line....
But that'll come in later chapters (hint: she does eventually get out
think of her as...................a spiffy guest on a late night show
I'll hush and not interrupt your artsy thoughts any longer!
